" Growth brings out the charm "
Wanting to sell our house in Bagot Rd Subiaco, we turned to Growth Realty who had managed the property as a rental since we moved out in the mid-1990’s. The house was meaningful to us as we had lived there during our early married life.
The character-filled Federation front-half of the house had been added to in the decade before we bought it, bringing the bathroom inside, re-arranging kitchen, laundry, living area and adding a double, rear-access carport and craft shed. While it had been very capably managed by Growth Realty since we had moved out, the charm and appeal of the house was not readily apparent. The beauty of the original fireplaces, jarrah floors, high, patterned ceilings and leadlight windows had become ‘overgrown’ by a garden needing attention, tired-looking walls inside and out – even an awning had fallen off the front window.
Enter Enzo Pagnozzi – Principal at Growth Realty. We met with Enzo and a building consultant to discuss whether we should undertake renovations and upgrades to the house before attempting to sell it. The cost of renovation was going to be substantial, with no guarantee of return beyond outlay.
We decided instead to upgrade the home by re-painting inside and out, re-doing the gardens, replacing the awning, polishing the jarrah floorboards and removing some wardrobes that had been built-in, but were not in keeping with the original design.
Enzo’s assistance in the achievement of this upgrade-without-renovation was amazing! His contacts in the building and maintenance industry clearly have a great respect for him, and gave punctual, efficient service in the home improvement process. He also showed contemporary design knowledge in his choice of simple but extremely effective colour schemes for the repainting of the outside and inside of the house.
Enzo kept us informed every step of the way, as we moved towards the first ’home open’ of the improved property and the marketing campaign that would follow. Two aspects of the process that really impressed us were the prompt time-frame in which Enzo arranged all the work on the house to be done, and Enzo’s tirelessly positive, professional enthusiastic approach throughout.
By now you must realise our story has a happy ending! We achieved the sale price we were seeking for the property – the weekend of the first home open! We were proud of the way the home presented for sale, and we were confident that the buyers would enjoy living in a lovely character-filled house as we had.
Real estate agents do not always receive recognition for the work they do, but we want to give credit to Enzo and his team at Growth Realty Subiaco for not only arranging the prompt sale of our much-loved property in Subiaco, but for also helping bring out the charm of the property through the facilitation of wise and efficient improvements to the home.
